　　《说文解字》载：仓，谷藏也，苍黄取而藏之，故谓之仓。
　　“仓”之原意是将收获后的粮谷进行收藏，故“仓”是具备收藏功能的一种建筑，并暗喻丰收与贮藏的美好状态。

According to ancient Chinese book on Mandarin, the word Cang (granary) means architecture for the storage of corns after harvest. Therefore the Granary is blessed with harvest and vintage.
